品位

    品位是指人们对某种服装在特定情境下是否具有吸引力、是否适合的普遍流行的看法。对服装具有良好的品位，意味着不仪对审美因素很敏感，而且对特殊情境下什么是恰当的也同样敏感。举例来说，  一件晚礼服可能很美，但如果把它穿到白天举行的婚礼上，就显得有失品位了。

    即使‘种时尚正在流行，也并非对每个人都适合。流行的东西只有同时对白己也适合，穿在身上才能说有品位。举个例子，超短裙、紧身裤、比基尼和露背吊带装，只有那些身材苗条的人穿上才好石。

Taste

In fashion, taste refers to prevailing opinion of what is and what is not attractive and appropriate for a given occasion. Good taste in fashion,  erefore, means sensitivity not only to what is artistically pleasing but also to what is appropriate for a specific situation. A style, such as an evening gown, may be beautiful. But if it is worn to a morning wedding, for example, it may not be considered in good taste.
Even during the height of acceptance of a particular fashion, it is considered in good taste only if it is worn by people on whom it looks appropriate. For example, miniskirts, tight pants, bikinis, and halter tops are considered in good taste only for slim people in good physical shape.
